Shakespeare’s legacy. Stravinsky’s masterpiece. Romeo and Juliet like you have never seen before.
Concert Theatre presents a breathtaking fusion of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring. With a cast of five Lecoq-trained actors and classical pianists from Royal Academy of Music, the two classic tales collide with stirring music and mesmerising physical theatre.
The audience embarks on a journey of wordless storytelling expertly animated through commedia half masks. The heart-felt melodies of The Rite of Spring sets Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers against the pounding, barbaric rhythms of the deadly feud between Montagues and Capulets. Every movement, every dissonance, and every silence heightens the tragic fate of the young lovers.
